This will be the fifth symposium on the broad topic of cultivated plant taxonomy and associated disciplines. Previous symposia were held in:

Wageningen 1985
Seattle 1994
Edinburgh 1998
Toronto 2002

Proceedings of the 1985, 1994 and 2002 symposia were published by the International Society for Horticultural Science ( http://www.ishs.org/ ) as Acta Horticulturae 182, 413 & 634 respectively ( http://www.actahort.org/ particularly http://www.actahort.org/books/634/ http://www.actahort.org/books/413/ http://www.actahort.org/books/182/ ). The proceedings of the 1998 symposium (Andrews, S, Leslie, A & Alexander, C.
