Acting Council

The Acting Council was a group of people, initially nominated at the Toronto Symposium (2002) but subsequently co-opting others, who have worked towards or otherwise supported the formation of IACPT between 2002 and 2007. A smaller working group of five members has been involved in finalising the constitution, setting up the website and other arrangements. Because it was formed before the constitution was finalised and then formally ratified on 6th June 2007, the composition of the Acting Council does not comply with Art. 15 of the Constitution. IACPT was formally launched on 18th October 2007 during the Fifth International Symposium on the Taxonomy of Cultivated Plants in Wageningen (http://www.istcp2007.wur.nl/). At that time the members of the Acting Council did stand down and a properly constituted Council was elected, along with the Executive Committee (comprising the seven Office Bearers) and the Internal Auditors.
